WASHINGTON, DC – The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) released the following statement on the heels of last week’s jobs report and President Biden’s speech today on returning Americans to work.

From NAW CEO Eric Hoplin:

“President Biden’s attention to the growing hiring crisis is overdue, but welcomed by job creators across the country. Wholesaler-distributors report that government policies like the pandemic unemployment benefit are limiting their ability to fill good-paying jobs with generous benefits despite a rising unemployment rate. As an industry with jobs that typically pay well above minimum wage, the problem is not pay or benefits – the problem is government incentives that slow an economic recovery rather than fuel it.”
