Eric Hoplin, President and CEO of NAW, issued the following statement in response to President Biden’s State of the Union Address:

“The President continues to depict businesses as adversaries rather than partners in advancing the American economy. President Biden unfairly attributes inflation to businesses, despite it being driven by out-of-control government spending and burdensome regulatory measures imposed by his own administration.

Small business owners are confronting unprecedented challenges and urgently need tax relief, not additional burdens. Let’s be unequivocal – a tax hike on Americans earning over $400,000 is effectively a tax on small businesses.

The resilience of America’s business community, especially our supply chain companies at NAW, should be celebrated and supported rather than penalized.”
