April 8, 2025 – The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors applauds the Senate for passing a budget resolution last week that unlocks extension of the Trump tax cuts and urges House lawmakers to support the resolution. This budget resolution is essential to preventing a massive, automatic tax hike on Americans and lays the groundwork for Congress to make the Trump Tax Cuts permanent for small businesses and workers.
The 2017 tax cuts helped NAW member companies reinvest in their businesses and workforce, expand, and contribute to their local communities. These investments have given workers competitive pay, strong benefits and professional growth opportunities.
However, if lawmakers fail to act, millions of small businesses, including the majority of wholesaler-distributors will see a tax increase threatening the ability of our industry to continue re-investing in their workers and communities.
We are encouraged to see continued support for President Trump’s tax policy, which has fueled economic expansion, empowered American businesses, and supported working families. We urge Congress to pass the budget resolution and move quickly to begin drafting and passing legislation to extend the Trump tax cuts and prevent a tax increase on American businesses and workers.
NAW member companies have penned op-eds explaining why the tax bill is important to them, which can be found here:
Op-ed by Jim Derry, CEO of Field Fastener, an industrial distributor based in Rockford, Illinois
The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) is one of America’s leading trade associations, representing the $8.2 trillion wholesale distribution industry. Founded in 1946, NAW comprises national, regional, and state employers of all sizes, industry trade associations, partners, and stakeholders spanning all distribution sectors. Our industry employs more than 6 million workers throughout the United States, accounting for 1/3 of the U.S. GDP.
