NAW recently sent two critical letters to Congress, advocating on behalf of wholesaler-distributors and the broader business community. In a letter to the Members of the Main Street Tax Team, NAW urged lawmakers to extend key tax provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), including making the 199A deduction for small businesses permanent, extending individual tax rates, and repealing the death tax. These measures will help small and family-owned businesses continue to invest in their workforce and local communities.

In a separate letter to the Supply Chain Tax Team, NAW stressed the importance of maintaining tax policies that support stable supply chains. NAW called on Congress to preserve the LIFO deduction, which helps businesses manage rising costs, as well as to maintain the current 21% corporate tax rate. Both provisions are critical to ensuring wholesaler-distributors can reinvest in their businesses, avoid inflationary pressures, and keep supply chains strong for consumers and the economy.
