Washington, DC – The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), which represents the voice of the 7.4 trillion-dollar wholesale-distribution industry and employs more than 5 million U.S. workers, has signed on to a letter urging Congress to take immediate action to prevent a rail strike from occurring and further disrupting the supply chain. The following statement has been issued by NAW CEO Eric Hoplin.
“A rail strike would be a supply chain disaster for our entire industry and devastating to our nation and our citizens. We ask labor unions to get to work and secure a deal that would keep America’s supply chain moving and avoid unnecessary damage to our fragile economy and prevent further inflationary pressures. We urge the Democratic Congress to exercise its authority to mandate that the recommendations worked out by the Presidential Emergency Board (PEB), be agreed to as soon as possible to avoid catastrophe.” said NAW CEO Eric Hoplin
