Statement from Brian Wild, Chief Government Affairs Officer at NAW:
“The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) commends the Administration’s decision to suspend enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA). This is a welcome relief for small and mid-sized businesses across the country, sparing them from the unnecessary compliance burdens and penalties associated with a law whose constitutionality remains in serious doubt.
However, while enforcement is on hold, the CTA is still on the books, and its legality remains unresolved. That’s why NAW is continuing to fight this law in court. We continue to file amicus briefs in the ongoing constitutional challenges to this law. NAW continues to believe this law exceeds Congress’ authority under the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.”
The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) is one of America’s leading trade associations, representing the $8.2 trillion wholesale distribution industry. Founded in 1946, NAW comprises national, regional, and state employers of all sizes, industry trade associations, partners, and stakeholders spanning all distribution sectors. Our industry employs more than 6 million workers throughout the United States, accounting for 1/3 of the U.S. GDP.
