Washington, DC (May 17, 2018) — The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) today announced the retirement of long-time Government Relations Vice President and NAW-PAC Political Director Jim Anderson. “Jim has capably served NAW’s member companies and associations for more than 34 years, representing their interests on Capitol Hill and before Executive Branch departments and agencies. His expertise on a wide range of issues, including health care and employee benefits, civil justice reform, and workplace labor issues, has earned him the respect of both NAW members and Washington D.C. business colleagues,” said Jade West, NAW Senior Vice President-Government Relations. “Jim will retire at the end of June. He will be missed at NAW, and we wish him and his wife, Donna, and their family, well in the next phase of their lives,” West added.
“NAW is also pleased to announce that two new lobbyists will be joining the team. Blake Adami will be NAW’s new Vice President-Government Relations, and Political Director of NAW’s Political Action Committee, NAW-PAC. Blake comes to NAW following a successful career in the House of Representatives, first with Texas Representative John Culberson and then as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for Representative Blake Farenthold. Blake is a graduate of Texas A&M and continues to serve as an advisor in their Liberal Arts Council. Blake will be bringing to NAW ten years of Hill experience, with particular knowledge of the House of Representatives and experience in many of the issues of importance to NAW,” continued West.
“Seth Waugh will be joining the Government Relations Department as Associate Vice President and Deputy Political Director of NAW-PAC. Seth has an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and did graduate studies at the U.S Air Force Command and Staff College. He started his work in Washington in the legislative shop of Ohio Senator George Voinovich, then moved on to run grass roots and political campaigns across 14 states. In 2011, Seth began work in the Washington association community, most recently serving as Director of Government Relations at the Portland Cement Association.”
“As a House Legislative Director Blake has handled a broad range of issues, and will be representing NAW on health care and many of the workforce and labor issues. The addition of Seth to the staff will allow NAW to expand involvement in infrastructure, transportation, and immigration, issues he has capably handled in his previous job,” concluded West.
