Voters urge new generation of leaders to focus on pressing issues that matter to most Americans
Washington, D.C. – The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), which is the voice of the 7.4 trillion-dollar wholesale distribution industry, and employs more than 5 million U.S. workers, released the following statement in response to the initial results of the 2022 midterm elections:
“Yesterday at the polls the voters made clear they are tired of the political leaders from both sides of the aisle who are focused on the grievances from past political fights,” said NAW CEO Eric Hoplin. “The mandate is clear – now is the time to turn the page on the past and elevate forward looking leaders who are committed to governing in a bipartisan manner on issues that actually matter to the country. Wholesaler-distributors are calling on all branches of government to use the new balance of power as an opportunity to work together and enact policies that will strengthen the economy and help American businesses thrive,” concluded Hoplin.
“We look forward to working with new and returning members in the 118th Congress next year on a wide variety of issues that are facing our industry and our nation,” said NAW Chief Government Relations Officer Jade West. “In a time of economic hardship and uncertainty, we will work with members across the political spectrum to protect NAW members and advocate for the interests of the wholesale distribution industry here in Washington,” concluded West.
