The U.S. Senate continues to be at an impasse on a short-term funding bill, with Democratic senators filibustering the continuing resolution which maxed out at 55 of the 60 votes needed to send the House-passed measure to President Trump's desk. However, much of the government continues to move forward (albeit without pay) and we are still actively talking to Congress which continues to hold committee hearings as we wait for a breakthrough.

Likewise, the White House has not let up on their agenda with a series of new tariff announcements, and new deadlines. President Trump seems intent on rolling out 232 tariffs on specific products and industries where he is on more comfortable constitutional authority should the Supreme Court decide he lacks the authority to continue pressing the reciprocal tariffs imposed on April 2nd under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
