Today begins an important week in D.C. with two major policy events expected that will have dramatic impacts on the business community. On Wednesday, President Trump will announce his “reciprocal tariffs” plan, as well as begin enforcing several already announced tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and the automobile sector worldwide. Meanwhile, Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate are expected to announce a final plan for extending expiring tax provisions as well as a host of other tax and spending cuts. One of these events would be enough to change economic projections, but two in the same week is overwhelming many companies’ abilities to plan. NAW will stay on top of both issues and pass on relevant information it occurs. We are trying to filter as much “noise” as we can and only highlight issues we think are most important to you. Please reach out if you want a deeper dive into any issues you are concerned about, and we can help decipher the impacts.
