Capitol Hill and the administration face a number of key deadlines in the coming weeks with President Trump saying he wants lawmakers to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act by July 4, legislation which contains a number of his top priorities including tax extension and new tax cuts, deregulation, spending cuts, and extension of the debt ceiling. While the real deadline for passing this bill is when we hit the debt ceiling, this artificial deadline has led to a flurry of activity.
Several days later, we will hit President Donald Trump’s July 8 deadline for foreign countries to negotiate trade deals with the U.S or face reciprocal tariffs as high as 50%. As with most of Trump’s trade agenda, it is nearly impossible to predict what will happen next but we attempt to cover many of the dynamics at play in the below update.
