A hint of independence?
Congress is currently in recess, preparing for the upcoming legislative work period. Most are back home already campaigning for reelection. We are officially six months out from the mid-term elections and are starting to see cracks in both parties’ coalitions. On the Republican side, the stranglehold President Trump has on all policy decisions has shown its first cracks, and I expect that trend to continue. On at least four occasions in the last month, congressional leaders have rebuffed the president.
