A new war in Iran, shocks to the energy sector, impacts on fertilizer imports and trade routes, a rotating list of tariffs, and a host of other threats to the supply chain are keeping wholesaler-distributors busy, once again, demonstrating the value of our industry and need for continued investment in a resilient supply chain. 

Like you, I am watching all this closely with a variety of internal opinions, but I am especially interested in how Republican and Democratic politicians react. President Trump has masterfully held a coalition of elected officials together, many who disagree with him behind the scenes on American trade and foreign policy. These next few weeks will further test that coalition. As will the President’s threats to not sign another bill into law until Congress passes The SAVE Act, a citizens election bill that currently has no chance of passing in the U.S. Senate. Meanwhile the Department of Homeland Security continues to operate without funding.
