Welcome to 2026, a year marking the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, the 80th anniversary of NAW, the Winter Olympics, the U.S. hosting the World Cup, and what will undoubtedly be hotly contested mid-term elections where Democrats hope to wrestle back control of Congress, and Republicans look to lock down two more years of single party power. This is going to be a doozy.
We ended 2025 with a list of policy successes and struggles for NAW and the business community at large and we start the year with a big picture forecast of the policy debates we expect to see. As I learned in the first Trump Administration and was reminded of as recently as last weekend, predicting what will happen is almost impossible, but here are some themes.
