Fourth of July in Washington D.C. is always special, a reminder of why our nation exists, the struggles, and the wonder that is the USA. We live in a country formed by the first revolution sparked by ideals, rather than a unified ethnicity, religion, or common history. We were not perfect when formed, and remain imperfect, but we are still striving and pushing for better.

America’s “magic” lies in many places, including the imperfections and inefficiencies built into our constitutional system. But my favorite part—and the reason I love this job and working with wholesaler-distributors—is the ideal at the heart of the Revolution: a wholehearted belief in what was then a new and emerging economic theory called capitalism. Support for free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and open transparent markets is central to the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, and it is at the core of NAW’s mission. So, this Fourth of July, I hope you take a well-deserved victory lap for the past 250 years and for your contributions to the USA.
