Paris-based electrical supplies distributor Sonepar announced Nov. 3 that it has acquired EOSYS — an industrial automation solutions provider based in Smyrna, TN.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1991, EOSYS helps manufacturers automate, connect and modernize operations, with capabilities spanning industrial automation, digital transformation, industrial panel fabrication and electrical control solutions. The company has offices across the U.S.

Sonepar said the acquisition expands its engineering and technical expertise as industrial customers require increasingly complex solutions. EOSYS’ capabilities complement the distributor’s existing industrial services, including panel design and assembly, power substation engineering and distribution, and switchgear panel assembly.

“EOSYS will enable us to deliver a better customer experience by adding specialized capabilities that complement our current industrial services offerings,” Sonepar Americas President Rob Taylor said.

Sonepar added that EOSYS will be part of a broader network of systems integrator partners that remains central to its strategy of connecting customers with specialized capabilities.

EOSYS is one of Rockwell Automation’s inaugural U.S.-based Platinum Systems Integrator Partners and was named the Control System Integrators Association’s 2025 Integrator Member of the Year.

Sales and Digital Investment Context

The acquisition follows a record sales year for Sonepar and recent announcements expanding its investment in artificial intelligence.

Sonepar reported 2025 sales of $37.9 billion, including $19 billion in the Americas. U.S. revenue increased 15% year-over-year. Online sales totaled $13.9 billion globally, while the company reported 50% growth in omnichannel sales supported by its Spark platform.

On Oct. 21, Sonepar announced plans to invest $560 million to accelerate AI deployment across its global operations. Applications include demand forecasting, inventory optimization, personalized product recommendations and automation of administrative and sales tasks, including quotation generation.

That commitment builds on nearly $4 billion the company said it had committed to its transformation since 2021, including nearly $3 billion for supply chain modernization and automation and $1 billion for digital transformation.

In September, Sonepar also announced a global Data & AI platform developed with technology consulting firm Onepoint. Predictive models supported by that platform had reached operations representing 95% of company revenue.

The family-owned distributor operates in 40 countries with approximately 46,000 employees. Its U.S. network includes more than 571 locations and 12,700 employees.
