Despite tariffs, persistent high inflation and looming U.S. midterm elections, distributor dealmaking remains active entering the fourth quarter of 2026, with September’s M&A including several major deals alongside plenty of tuck-in transactions. MDM published news of 26 individual transactions during September — either pending or completed — involving at least one North American-based distributor of industrial, commercial or building supply product categories that have long comprised the core market demographics of our readership.
