BiographyBill Hornell joined Mesirow Financialís Investment Banking group in 1988 and has over 28 years of experience in the investment banking industry. He is responsible for developing key relationships, leading deal teams throughout the transaction process and providing advisory services on middle market M&A assignments within the paper, plastics and packaging sectors.
Since joining the firm, Mr. Hornell has been involved in over 100 M&A transactions in the corrugated packaging, flexible packaging, folding carton, label and rigid packaging sectors. He serves family businesses, large corporations and private equity firms at any stage of their business.
Mr. Hornell has completed transactions with International Paper, Georgia-Pacific, Amcor, Packaging Corporation of America, PaperWorks, RockTenn, Menasha, Hood Container, RR Donnelley and Resource Label Group.
He has been featured in publications such as Board Converting News, Flexible Packaging Magazine and Packaging Digest. In addition, he has been a guest speaker at numerous conferences and events including the Paperboard Packaging Councilís Annual Meeting, the International In-Mold Labeling Conference and the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters.
Prior to Mesirow Financial, Mr. Hornell was a vice president in the Corporate Finance department at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company.
Mr. Hornell holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University and a B.S. from Indiana University.
