is the CIO at C.H. Briggs Company,
a wholesaler-distributor of specialty interior building products and materials. Scott is responsible for all technology and information services within the company, including application, IT infrastructure, software development, analytics, and telephony systems. He joined C.H. Briggs in 1989. Prior to that, Scott had 20-plus years of experience in sales, marketing, operations, and information systems within the wholesale distribution industry.
His recent focus areas have been the dynamic convergence of ERP, CRM, social, and other external data onto a mobile platform to capture and present a shared view of the customer throughout the organization, as well as to be postured for the future of wholesale distribution. This new source of contextual data combined with traditional data sources provide a rich opportunity to present new actionable information to the sales and marketing functions so those functions can manage the customer's journey, share of wallet, and retention. C.H. Briggs was recognized for this innovative approach by receiving the Infor “Excellence in Action – Innovation” award for 2013. Scott has made frequent contributions and presentations to various industry publications and forums about this approach and vision.
