Session & Discussion (Joint Session with Operations & HR): “How to Protect & Survive Labor Union Organizing Activities”

Union-related issues can cause a lot of stress and headaches for your business, and they’re never good for your bottom line. Loss of flexibility, artificially inflated labor costs, and suboptimal customer focus are, at times, attributed to a unionized workforce. Additionally, failure to follow certain rules during negotiations, organizing and decertification campaigns could lead to charges filed with the National Labor Relations Board.

Faced with these obstacles, it might seem like there's little you can do to convince employees to choose to be union-free. If the union knocks on your door, or your union employees want of their union, are you ready?

As an employer, it’s vital that you remain vigilant and develop proactive practices to union-proof your business. During this session, you will hear from John Lyday and Gene Perry from Bunzl as they discuss how they deal with unions. This session will cover important topics such as: indicators of labor organizing and decertification, how to legally and effectively communicate with your employees during campaigns and, most importantly, what your company can do to remain union-free.
