BiographyMark L. Sussman is the Managing Partner of the Firmís Long Island, New York, office and served on the Firmís Management Committee for over fifteen (15) years. He received his law degree in 1975 from Brooklyn Law School where he was the managing editor of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law. Mark conducted his undergraduate studies at Hofstra University from which he received a B.A. degree in 1969. He joined Jackson Lewis upon his graduation from law school in 1975. After practicing in the firm's New York City office for fifteen years, Mark opened the Long Island office in 1990.
Mark was a contributing editor to The Developing Labor Law and co-authored Employer's Election Campaign Strategies, published by the Employee Relations Press. He specializes in traditional labor law and has counseled employers in hundreds of union organizing drives and collective bargaining relationships. He has extensive experience in contract administration and arbitration. Mark has advised employers on workplace issues raised by business mergers, sales, closings, relocations, layoffs, etc. He is an experienced practitioner before the National Labor Relations Board. In addition, Mark counsels employers and trains supervisors on various workplace issues, including those related to wrongful termination, sexual harassment and all forms of discrimination.
Mark is a member of the New York Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section.
