BiographyJames A. Anderson, Jr. is Vice President-Government Relations for the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW). A twenty seven-year veteran of the NAW staff, he served previously as Director, then Senior Director-Government Relations. Anderson’s primary issue areas of responsibility include health care, retirement income security, employer-employee relations issues, and civil justice and product liability reform.
Mr. Anderson serves concurrently as Political Director of NAW’s Wholesaler-Distributor Political Action Committee (WDPAC).
Mr. Anderson is a member of the Steering Committee of the Small Business Coalition for Affordable Health Care, a member of the National Coalition on Benefits (NCB), a member of the National Coalition to Preserve Family Leave (NCPFL), and a member of various ad hoc coalitions addressing health care and pension issues.
Mr. Anderson formerly served as Executive Secretariat of The Product Liability Alliance, on the Board of Directors of the Workplace Health and Safety Council, on the Steering Committee and as Vice President of the Coalition for an Undercharge Relief Bill (CURB), as a member of the Board of Directors, an officer and Government Affairs Committee Chairman for the National Risk Retention Association (NRRA), and on the Steering Committees of the Y2K Coalition and the Coalition to Preserve Free Market Competition.
Prior to joining NAW in 1983, Mr. Anderson was employed by the National Association of Manufacturers as Associate Director of Loss Prevention and Control, and served for six years as a Congressional staff member.
Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Connecticut. He is married to the former Donna Bradford. The couple has five children and one grandchild.
