George Pattee

Biography

George Pattee began his Parksite and professional career in October of 1972, starting in the warehouse loading and unloading trucks. Over 36 years later he is CEO and Chairman of the Board. George reports directly to the Parksite Board of Directors and is involved in strategy development, organizational design, business planning and overall management of Parksite and all of its subsidiaries.

Since joining Parksite, George has experienced every role within the Parksite organization, beginning with his initial warehouse position and including the following:

• Warehouse Assistant
• Warehouse Manager
• Manager, Warehouse Operations and Sales
• Sales Manager, overseeing all aspects of Parksite Management
• National Sales Manager
• President (Named in 1992)
• CEO (Named in 1997)

During his career with Parksite, George has (and continues) to provide strength and experience in corporate and competitive strategic planning, problem solving, fiscal accountability, strategy planning, marketing and research, brand management, customer service and people management. A few of highlights of his career are:

• Instrumental in the creation of an innovative product, Tyvek, resulting in a change in building practice worldwide;
• Responsible for opening sales offices in Ohio, Texas, Florida, including expanding in Southeast Georgia, Kentucky;
• Effecting acquisitions of Plunkett-Webster, Sloan Distribution, Metro Distributors, Metro Associates and Eastern Distributors between 2000 and 2005;
• Restructuring Parksite Inc. into a 100% employee owned company (ESOP);
• Responsible for creating sales from $0 to $500,000,000 from 1972 – 2006
• Build and maintain lasting relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.

George has had the privilege and honor to serve on many industry councils, as a presenter and consultant, including the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), North American Building Material Distributor Association (NBMDA), The ESOP Association, and The Employee Owned S Corporations of America (ESCA). An active member of TEC/Vistage, an organization for the development of CEO’s, George continues to promote and provide education to himself and his peers.

George received a Bachelor of Science in Management from Elmhurst College in 1977.
