Ron Calhoun


Ron is President, Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors at The Palmer Donavin Manufacturing Company. Palmer Donavin is a distribution business established in 1907 with two operating divisions, Building Material distribution and HVAC distribution. Company sales have grown from $97 million in 1995 to $172 million in 2009. Ron oversees the efforts of 245 employees in 8 locations throughout Ohio and Indiana. He established a startup operation in Northeast Ohio in 1998 and built a new facility to own in 2004. Ron established an ESOP in March 2007 from zero to 100% at one time and mid 2010 have paid off all external debt. Ron has served as President and Board Member since 1995. Prior to Palmer Donavin, Ron held outside sales positions with Heatilator Fireplace and National Gypsum Company. Summary of Professional Qualifications: •Serve as a business executive since 1995. •Serve as a board member on various business and civic associations. •Serve in leadership positions on various business and civic associations. •Led Palmer Donavin thru a major acquisition. •Led the sale of Palmer Donavin as an ESOP and continue to manage the company as an ESOP organization. Education: Ohio University (Bachelor of Business Administration, 1972) Capital University (MBA program and did not complete) Professional Affiliations: •NBMDA, National Building Material Distribution Association, board member and served as President 1996 and 2004. •Voting member of NAW, National Association of Wholesale Distributors •First vendor member of the board of directors for The Ohio Lumbermen’s Association. •Founding board member and treasurer for NARI of Central Ohio. •Current board member and treasurer Franklin County Residential Services providing care to adult individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. •Served as board member for the Columbus United Way campaigns 2001 and 2002. •Current board member and Chairman 2007 – 2008 The Ohio University College of Business Executive Advisory Board.
