H Lee "Buck" Mathews


Buck currently teaches at the executive education level and is active in consulting. He was a member of the graduate and undergraduate faculty at The Ohio State University (OSU) for 32 years. He is currently Professor Emeritus of Marketing and Past Chairman of the Marketing Faculty at both OSU and Pennsylvania State University. Buck has won numerous teaching awards and has been named as the Outstanding Professor by several MBA classes at OSU. He has been named Professor of the Year by the American Marketing Association and has developed education programs for many wholesale distribution companies and their suppliers over many years. He was the Director of the NAW Wholesale Distribution Manager's Course for 20 years. Buck is the co-author of Branching and Market Coverage: Growth Strategies for Wholesaler-Distributors and Selling. In addition, he has written Marketing Simplified: A Guide to Decision Making. He has published in major journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, and Industrial Management. Buck has also written several business cases that have been published by the Harvard Business School. His consulting and research experiences have focused on a broad range of strategic problems, including industrial market strategic planning, sales management, market intelligence, financial planning, and product procurement and marketing. Buck is a graduate of The University of Illinois and The Ohio State University.
