“Actionable Predictive Analytics for Large Company CEOs”

We’ve all been dazzled with the promise of what predictive analytics can do, so much so that one of the recent jokes in CEO circles is that when executives are asked, “What’s next for your company?,” they nearly always answer: “Clearly, predictive analytics.”

It’s easy to see why. The ability for technology to accurately anticipate future needs and serve up appropriate content and solutions seems, well, magical. And as computing power and software continue to evolve, we’re seeing companies do increasingly impressive things in the field. Today’s solutions are able to derive actionable insights that are being used not only to recommend enhancements to orders, but to predict demand surges, forecast the weather, manage employees and improve health outcomes. You name the industry, and predictive analytics seems to be making it better.

In practice, however, there have been serious hurdles to making predictive analytics work well in most enterprise environments. The problem isn’t what’s theoretically possible; it’s the limits to what most companies have the ability to practically digest and implement.

“Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Warehouse – What is Working Today and In the Near Future”

Recent years have seen the rise of connected technologies to include Robotics, Automation and Bot technologies throughout our businesses. This marriage of digital and physical systems (Distribution Artificial Intelligence or Distribution A.I.) has paved the way for increasing efficiencies in the industry. These new technologies with continue to transform the industry. This presentation will focus on the new warehouse technologies that will emerge in the next 3-5 years. It will also focus on how to retrofit our current facilities with new and emerging technologies.

Takeaway(s)
This session will help distribution leaders create a practical and implementable three to five-year strategy focusing on robotics/automation to replace repetitive processes in the distribution channel. Also, the group will discuss best practices on how to integrate autonomous machines into their current warehouse, and use AI within the existing facility without having to build new ones.

“Strategy Deep Dive – How CEOs Lead Teams Through Multi-Year Strategies”

Success at large-scale transformation demands more than the best strategic and tactical plans, the traditional focus of senior executives and their advisers. It requires an intimate understanding of the human side, as well — the company’s culture, values, people, and behaviors that must be changed to deliver the desired results. Plans themselves do not capture value. Value is realized only through the sustained, collective actions of thousands or tens of thousands of employees who are responsible for designing, executing, and living the change.

Long-term structural transformation is characterized by scale — it affects all or most of the organization; by magnitude — it involves significant alterations from the status quo; by duration — the change program lasts for months if not years; and by its strategic importance. Yet companies will reap the rewards only when change occurs at the level of the individual employee.

Many senior executives recognize this, and it worries them. When asked what keeps them up at night, CEOs often wonder about “how the workforce will react,” “getting my team to work together and pull this off,” “leading my people through this,” “retaining our unique values and sense of identity,” or “creating a culture of commitment and performance.” Leadership teams that fail to plan for the human side of change often find themselves wondering why their best-laid plans go awry.

This session will guide the CEO participants on how to lead alternate strategies for 3 years/5 years/10 years plans with their teams. The goal of these strategy sessions should be a team working through that process, and having a strategy on the books.

“Managing Your Talent Pipeline”

Businesses and their leaders face some pressing questions about their future talent pipelines and human capital strategy. Global workforce and economic trends are changing the talent landscape at the same time that the global economy regains its confidence and looks towards growth.

CEOs are well aware of the extraordinary challenges ahead but seem less certain about how to tackle them. 93% say that they recognize the need to make a change, or are already changing, their strategy for attracting and retaining talent. But there’s still an enormous gulf between intention and action; a staggering 61% of CEOs haven’t yet taken the first step.

This is no time for tinkering at the edges. The magnitude of the changes underway mean that a fundamental rethink of talent strategy is needed, and right now. New sources of human capital to build tomorrow’s workforce must be found, and the way in which people work, and where they’ll work, needs to be re-conceived.

This very strategic session will focus on the early adopters of talent planning and acquisition assessment tools.
