The NAW Billion Dollar Company Operations Roundtable for direct members was created as a new mechanism for the Operations Executives of large distribution enterprises to network with non-competing peers in multiple lines of trade on key operations issues.

Similar to other billion dollar roundtables NAW has created for the CIO, CFO, Chief Legal Officer, and CHRO, this by invitation roundtable is composed of executives from billion dollar companies that meet in Chicago two times per year. This highly interactive group consists of the SENIOR-MOST operations executives. The annual fee is $1,800 per member, which covers meeting costs of four events in a twelve month cycle. Participants are expected to cover the cost of their hotel and travel. Once the annual fee is paid, there are no additional fees to attend the meetings, which will last one day beginning with a reception and dinner the evening before.

The participating companies can also name an alternate who can take the place of the Operations Executive, should that person be unable to attend the scheduled meeting.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Bringing over 20 years of blended professional experience, Cheryl D’Cruz-Young spent the first half of her career in global supply chain management working and living in London and Paris before moving to New York. Her natural bias towards collaboration meant that she was regularly seconded to recruit, build and develop globally diverse teams; leading the definition through to execution of value enhancing local, national and global procurement & supply chain strategies across all spend management categories for the enterprises at which she worked.

Previously she established and led the procurement & supply chain practice for a boutique, diversity focused firm, where for over ten years she successfully placed global and national functional executives in C-Suite roles.

  • Working within the Supply Chain & Operations Centre of Expertise, Cheryl D’Cruz-Young partners with clients across markets to understand their ESG technical and leadership gaps and leverage the global platform at KF to devise custom-made solutions.
  • She is a founding partner of Global Industrial Market Purpose Through People – where her focus is to provide ESG solutions to assist her clients accelerate towards their goals.
  • Prior to her current role, she worked in close collaboration with procurement and operations leaders to digitize their end-to-end value chains.

Academic and Professional background
Mrs. D’Cruz-Young holds a Master of Arts in Financial Economics from The University of Dundee, Scotland. She is a member of the Institute of Supply Management and an active member of several international professional organizations supporting procurement & supply chain and data science.

Andrew Lowe is a Senior Client Partner at Korn Ferry, and Sustainability & Corporate Affairs lead for EMEA. He partners with clients – Corporate, Financial Services, Investor, NGO – across the talent spectrum; strategic acquisition, leadership development, organizational strategy, culture transformation, and assessment/succession planning.

Andrew has particular expertise in Sustainable Finance, ESG, Chief Sustainability Officers (CSO’s), and leadership in Corporate Affairs & Communications and Investor Relations. He has successfully worked with global, European and UK clients across all industry sectors, with recent experience in Energy, Healthcare, FMCG, Financial Services, Manufacturing and Technology.

Prior to joining the firm Andrew worked for a leading European search & selection boutique, where he specialized in financial services.

This followed a six year career in the British Army as an officer in the Corps of Royal Engineers, having commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

Andrew has a bachelor of sciences degree in Geology from Queen’s University Belfast.

He is also certified in via EDGE Learning Agility and is a PRINCE 2 Project Management Practitioner.

WESCO Intelligent Automation Journey

Max Ioffe, Director, Global Intelligent Automation COE, WESCO Distribution

According to Deloitte’s 2020 annual global survey of executives, 73% of respondents said their organizations have embarked on a path to intelligent automation, a 58% jump from 2019 numbers. Yet, many organization are struggling to get the program going or to scale it beyond the pilot implementation. Max Ioffe, Director of Global Intelligent Automation will share WESCO Distribution journey, and discuss unique challenges and opportunities of building automations for the wholesale and distribution industry.

Topics will include:

  1. What is Intelligent Automation and what are key motivators to start the program
  2. WESCO take on IA program governance and implementation model
  3. Transforming employee apprehension to active engagement via citizen developer program
  4. Finding opportunities in challenges (COVID, M&A, etc.)

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Max Ioffe is the Director of Global Intelligent Automation for WESCO Distribution. He started WESCO Intelligent Automation program in early 2019 and has been driving it ever since. Max and his team provide overall governance for the program and own all aspects of intelligent automation including idea generation, automation implementation and production support, as well as employee education and citizen developer programs.

Prior to this role, Max led WESCO Inventory Center of Excellence that owned procurement and inventory analytics and supply chain optimization functions. In this role Max and his team designed and implemented WESCO purchasing system, improved and streamlined WESCO replenishment algorithms, standardized purchasing and inventory reports across the organization, and provided advanced analytics and data mining for the procurement and inventory management organizations.

As we move out of the pandemic lockdowns, labor shortage problems of recruiting, retention and turnover are casting a wide net. How can you get out of the normal staffing rut? Increasing flex staffing pools is an alternative which can be utilized to efficiently process the volatility of demand in distribution centers. This session, facilitated by Larry Corrigan, VP Operations, will provide overview on why Medline chose to strategically focus on utilizing technology to enhance scheduling effectiveness, benefits gained, paint points, and considerations to be made prior to embarking on this path.
