The NAW Billion Dollar Company Operations Roundtable for direct members was created as a new mechanism for the Operations Executives of large distribution enterprises to network with non-competing peers in multiple lines of trade on key operations issues.

Similar to other billion dollar roundtables NAW has created for the CIO, CFO, Chief Legal Officer, and CHRO, this by invitation roundtable is composed of executives from billion dollar companies that meet in Chicago two times per year. This highly interactive group consists of the SENIOR-MOST operations executives. The annual fee is $1,800 per member, which covers meeting costs for two events in a twelve month cycle. Participants are expected to cover the cost of their hotel and travel. Once the annual fee is paid, there are no additional fees to attend the meetings, which will last one day beginning with a reception and dinner the evening before.

The participating companies can also name an alternate who can take the place of the Operations Executive, should that person be unable to attend the scheduled meeting.

Jonathan Bein, Ph.D., Managing Partner, Distribution Strategy Group

Technology disruption is affecting all functions of wholesale distribution from warehouse operations to sales. The disruption already underway has been accelerated by Covid. Distribution Strategy Group will cover key technology trends affecting distribution now and in the next few years including:

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Jonathan Bein, Ph.D. has worked with many distributors to make their marketing a profit center. He has developed and applied analytic approaches for customer segmentation, customer lifecycle management, positioning and messaging, pricing, and channel strategy for distributors.

Prior to Distribution Strategy Group, Bein has successfully led and been part of executive management for software product and services companies in information technology, healthcare, and communications. Bein has been CEO of several companies including:

SkyeTek — grew revenues and valuation four-fold of RFID manufacturer in seven months.

IGS, Inc. — delivered 100 software solutions for companies such as AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, and Lucent.

Bolder Heuristics, Inc. — achieved Inc 500 ranking with software services for telecommunications, healthcare, and IT.

As VP Engineering at Informed Access, a provider of phone based healthcare triage, he drove development of core products and services and the company was subsequently sold for $300M. As VP, Engineering at Telwatch, Bein drove development of network management software that became the core platform for Objective Systems. At Martin Marietta, he applied artificial intelligence to perform automatic real-time fault handling of spacecraft hardware.

Bein earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Colorado with a focus in Data Intensive Expert Systems and a BA in Computer Science at Indiana University.

Diversity in Leadership, Go Beyond Awareness to Impact

Organizations with inclusive cultures are eight times more likely to achieve their goals and have better decision-making within teams. However, according to the Society for Human Resource Managers (SHRM), just hiring a diverse workforce doesn’t automatically translate into having an inclusive culture. It’s something that needs to be built intentionally; just increasing awareness of the diversity is not a solution. In this session, we will discuss the following:

  • The four key components of building an inclusive culture and the impact on your business
  • A framework for Diversity & Inclusion that focuses on closing the distance of difference to move from awareness to impact
  • Practical, relevant tools to measure inclusion and identify areas of opportunity within your organization

Fred Falker is the President of Falker Consulting Group, Inc., a human resource development training and consulting firm and Director of Workforce Development for the Saint Louis Zoo. He has worked as an organizational development consultant for more than 30 years, helping organizations with performance management, customer service and diversity issues. At the Saint Louis Zoo he has worked extensively on helping the organization’s efforts to establish itself as one of the best places to work, serve and volunteer in the country.

As a Partner at Chapman & Co, Susan Conrad works developing client relationships, improving internal team operations, and developing our team. Bringing her experience from professional services, finance, real estate, and community-based organizations, her desire is to impact the lives of others. She is motivated by the moment that people connect their inspiration to action and commit to taking the next step.

Susan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Master’s Degree from Washington University’s Olin School of Business, and SPHR designation from the HR Certification Institute.

Mr. Streit was instrumental in launching and growing the Korn Ferry Talent Academy across the global Talent Delivery Center network and with select Marquee Accounts. This curriculum and delivery methodology have become the standard in onboarding and professional development in the Talent Management industry.

Mr. Streit has partnered with multiple organizations on executing enterprise-wide hiring initiatives for the Life Sciences, Industrial and Technology industries.
