“The NAW Billion Dollar CIO Roundtable is an excellent forum for like-minded executives to network and exchange ideas. Time invested attending these Roundtables are time well spent.”

Amin Noormohamed, VP & Chief Information Officer, Core Mark International Inc

The NAW Billion Dollar Company Chief Information Officer Roundtable for direct members was created as a new mechanism for the CIO’s of large distribution enterprises to network with non-competing peers in multiple lines of trade on key IT issues.

Similar to other billion dollar roundtables NAW has created for the CLO, CFO, Operations, and CHRO, this by invitation only roundtable is composed of executives from billion dollar companies that meet in Chicago two times per year. This highly interactive group consists of the SENIOR-MOST IT executives. The annual fee is $1,800 per member, which covers meeting costs for two events in a twelve month cycle. Participants are expected to cover the cost of their hotel and travel. Once the annual fee is paid, there are no additional fees to attend the meetings, which will last one day beginning with a reception and dinner the evening before.

The participating companies can also name an alternate who can take the place of the enrolled Executive, should that person be unable to attend the scheduled meeting.

If you would like to learn more please contact Tara Mostatab at 202.263.4080 or

Eligibility: Companies with $1B+ in annual revenue.
The NAW Billion Dollar Roundtable is the only opportunity that provides networking and benchmarking exclusively with other top executives of non competing, like-sized Wholesale-Distribution companies.

Disruption, Ideation, and the changing role of the CIO / IT function

Guy Blissett
Client Relationship Executive, Deloitte Services

Jeffrey Bloom
Managing Director -Technology Strategy & Architecture, Deloitte Services

A confluence of disruptive forces – enabled by advances in digital – are fundamentally reshaping the wholesale distribution industry. Everything from how products are sourced, stocked, researched, sold, delivered, invoiced and serviced – as well as who performs and informs each of these activities – is changing. The result is a true inflection point in the industry and a recasting of the role of IT and the expectations of the CIO. Increasingly, other functions now look to IT and the CIO for ideation with new products and solutions… from innovation, to development, through test and onto operationalizing them. This session will explore the emerging role IT and the CIO play in: a) driving and enabling ideation at wholesale distributor companies, b) harnessing the power of digital to transform, and c) the strategy, organization and architecture considerations that help the distributor leverage disruptive forces.

Guy Blissett is a Client Relationship Executive at Deloitte focused on: a) forging strong relationships with Deloitte’s most strategic wholesale distribution accounts; and b) building the Deloitte’s dedicated wholesale distribution industry practice.  He brings 15 years of broad-based business consulting experience and a deep knowledge of the wholesale distribution industry to this role.

Guy engages with wholesaler-distributor executives from various functions on issues such as business model transformation, ERP implementation, and digital transformation. Deeply knowledgeable of industry issues and trends, he works with distributors to help them more effectively assess the factors impacting their business, to realize business value from their technology investments, and to accelerate their transformations.

Core to his role at Deloitte, Guy actively researches critical wholesale distribution industry trends, challenges, and opportunities and develops provocative points of view on industry imperatives.  He has authored numerous whitepapers and books on the industry, and presented at many trade association conferences including the NAW Executive Summit.

Jeffrey Bloom, is a Managing Director and a member of the Technology Strategy & Architecture leadership team. Jeff has more than 28 years of IT strategy, program management, architecture design and operational consulting experience serving the life science, consumer products and manufacturing industry – he is recognized as an IT thought leader by many companies and their CIO’s and has assisted many companies in evaluating their IT strategy, program management office, governance and IT operating model.
Mr. Bloom has led the transformation for many companies through some of the largest and most complex IT and operational transformations, including ERP strategy, deployment, new IT sourcing and service delivery models, IT post-merger integration and divestitures (infrastructure and applications), IT infrastructure modernization (data center, network, cloud adoption, end user computing, mobility and collaboration) and outsourcing advisory.
In addition, he is has extensive experience working on large global initiatives including projects in Israel, France, United Kingdom, Middle East and Central America.

How to Drive Business Impact from Analytics and Machine Learning Initiatives in Wholesale Distribution

Santosh Abraham
Client Partner – Analytics Lead, Codifyd

Analytics, machine learning, AI – buzzwords we hear about often, but what is the real business value in these initiatives? How do you assess ROI/business impact and prioritize projects? How do you build capability and governance to execute on these projects? In this session, Codifyd’s Analytics Lead, Santosh Abraham, will give an overview of these items, lead a discussion on analytics maturity and build an Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) based on client case studies. Attendees will walk away from this session with actionable items on how to apply best practices when starting or enhancing analytics and AI initiatives within wholesale distribution.

Santosh Abraham is an experienced practitioner of advanced analytics and predictive modeling across various business domains at both Fortune 500 firms and startups. He has built two start-up companies in predictive analytics and machine learning over the past decade working with high impact data science teams and domain experts to solve diverse problem sets ranging from marketing performance management and customer relationship management (CRM) to supply chain optimization, programmatic advertising, and web analytics. He is a proponent of the “pragmatic” application of data science by combining analytics and technology with business. He is passionate about not letting analytics become a solution-looking-for-a-problem by institutionalizing an Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) framework that seeks to identify and solve high priority problem sets that translate to sustainable ROI and ultimately move the needle for business stakeholders.

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Disruptor Companies in Wholesale Distribution

Mark Dancer
Founder, Network for Channel Innovation

Competing in the digital age requires distributor leaders to envision their business as a platform for innovation and the most aggressive leaders will strive not just to fit within an evolving market place and value chain, but to disrupt the emerging status quo with new customer experiences, operational effectiveness and organizational capabilities. Disruption is already occurring from outside traditional players and may increasingly come from incumbent leaders with new foresight, mindsets and visions … and organizations enabled with new capabilities and business cultures.

In this session, Mark Dancer will share his latest research and insights from his ongoing work as a NAW Institute Fellow and founder of the Network for Channel Innovation, and lead a discussion about driving innovation and disruption, including the essential role and contribution of a distributors Chief Information Officer. Conversations will include acting as a game-change or quick follower, according to each distributor’s unique risk tolerance and return objectives, and charting a course through known forces and unforeseeable events.

Mark Dancer is a leading authority and published author on channel innovation and business transformation. Mark founded the Network for Channel Innovation to strengthen the practice and impact of channel innovation through awareness, advocacy, and research, and the Future of Channels blog for sharing ideas and insights among channel innovators.  As Fellow for the NAW Institute for Distribution Excellence, Mark works to help leaders drive innovation as they respond to disruption by online marketplaces, globalization and other game-changing developments. Mark’s most recent NAW Institute report, CEO Insights on Innovating the Distributor for the Digital Age reveals essential requirements for an opportunity-seeking mindset, value chain collaboration and organizational capabilities.
