“The NAW Billion Dollar CIO Roundtable is an excellent forum for like-minded executives to network and exchange ideas. Time invested attending these Roundtables are time well spent.”

Amin Noormohamed, VP & Chief Information Officer, Core Mark International Inc

The NAW Billion Dollar Company Chief Information Officer Roundtable for direct members was created as a new mechanism for the CIO’s of large distribution enterprises to network with non-competing peers in multiple lines of trade on key IT issues.

Similar to other billion dollar roundtables NAW has created for the CLO, CFO, Operations, and CHRO, this by invitation only roundtable is composed of executives from billion dollar companies that meet in Chicago two times per year. This highly interactive group consists of the SENIOR-MOST IT executives. The annual fee is $1,800 per member, which covers meeting costs for two events in a twelve month cycle. Participants are expected to cover the cost of their hotel and travel. Once the annual fee is paid, there are no additional fees to attend the meetings, which will last one day beginning with a reception and dinner the evening before.

The participating companies can also name an alternate who can take the place of the enrolled Executive, should that person be unable to attend the scheduled meeting.

If you would like to learn more please contact Tara Mostatab at 202.263.4080 or tmostatab@naw.org.

Eligibility: Companies with $1B+ in annual revenue.
The NAW Billion Dollar Roundtable is the only opportunity that provides networking and benchmarking exclusively with other top executives of non competing, like-sized Wholesale-Distribution companies.

Competing with Amazon from an Insider’s Perspective

Vincent Maurici
Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Codifyd

As B2B e-commerce companies face competition increasingly, we take a look at how those businesses can compete and thrive in the world where Amazon is now a force to reckon with.

AmazonSupply, which launched in 2012 with half a million items, now boasts millions of products across a vast range of categories. Buyers are comfortable purchasing from Amazon because they offer the following features: inexpensive or free shipping, efficient ordering, astute recommendations and abundant reviews.

However, Amazon is still an aggregated marketplace and does not offer customized solutions specific to the interests of various business domains. This is where other B2B will have to up their game to compete with Amazon.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Vincent Maurici is accountable for the growth, success and excellence of the PIM and MDM practice at Codifyd. He brings 8+ years of MDM content and implementation experience to Codifyd, and has launched several successful Fortune 500 global PIM programs including the world’s largest paint manufacturer.

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

This session is set aside for you to raise any issue you would like and have the group provide their thoughts. This is an open forum to further discuss any item on the agenda or to bring up topics that are not on the agenda. Make sure to take notes during this session, you may find a perfect topic to suggest for the next NAW Roundtable.

12:00 PM – 12:45 PM
Joint Lunch & Networking Discussion with CFO Roundtable
This is the “halftime” period where you meet up with all of the Billion Dollar Company senior executives at this week’s Roundtable to compare ideas and benchmark across disciplines. Both groups: CFO and CIO executives will attend this joint lunch.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Closing Session & Discussion
What CIOs Need to Know about Subscription Based Contracts

Erik Didriksen
Program Director, Offering Management, IBM Watson

Business to business relationships are governed by the contracts and paper between them. The buy-side (from the manufacturer) is reportedly harder for wholesalers and distributors to manage, though the sell-side (to end clients) also represents opportunity. Smart Contracts offer a tremendous future opportunity for organizations on both sides, but they’re not here – yet and there’s plenty of business to still be run.

During this session, we will explore and try to answer the following questions:

  • How can businesses keep tabs on the agreements in place today and ensure that they’re meeting the obligations they’ve entered into – while also making sure that they’re getting what’s due to them?
  • How can businesses work smarter with the contracts they have in place today?

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Erik Didriksen joined IBM Watson in 2015 and has brought to market Watson Compare & Comply and Watson Virtual Agent (now part of Watson Assistant).  With deep industry experience in Customer Analytics, Marketing and Customer Experience Management, he’s led change from within both the Insurance and Banking Industries.
